After going through a lot of casting dilemma, P. Vasu the director of the new Rajini project ‘Kuselan', has finalized Meena to do the character of wife of the poor barber, to be donned by Pasupathi in the remake.

Interestingly it was again Meena who appeared in the same role in the original of ‘Kuselan', that is Malayalam super hit 'Katha Parayumbhol'. A lot of actresses had been approached for this role but due to some mysterious reasons, actress like Simran didn't dare to be on the role. The film with Rajinikanth in the lead tells the story of two friends who parted ways years ago, one becoming a filmi superstar and the other a family man leading a poor life.

But in ‘Vellithirai' the remake of another Malayalam hit 'Udhayananu Tharam' scheduled to get released this month, malayalee actress Gopika is doing the role that Meena had been in the original.
