Sections of the English-language print media have been abuzz with one thing for the last few hours. Several high-placed sources have been quoted, without their names being mentioned, to drive home the rumour that Akhil's impending marriage with fashion designer Shriya Bhupal has been called off.

The reports are claiming that it was the call of the young would-be couple to call off the marriage, due to be held in May. Akhil and Shriya, who have been each other's sweethearts for at least two years, haven't had good relations for quite some time now. With them deciding to part ways, their respective elders had no option but to accept it.

The rumour may or may not be true, but what is almost certain is that, as long as there is no official confirmation or denial from the elders, the speculations will be rife.
