Donald Trump, who tested positive for COVID-19 last week, on Tuesday (IST) left the hospital where he was being treated. Media reports have said that he was advised by doctors not to leave the hospital. The doctors, says a report, will not know for a week whether the US President has fully recovered.
Trump is coming in for much criticism for walking out of the hospital. He has been described by commentators as reckless and irresponsible. "The President removed his mask while looking at media from a White House balcony after his return from the hospital," a media house reported.
The President has come in for much media scrutiny. Washington Post quoted an expert as saying this: “For someone sick enough to have required remdesivir and dexamethasone, I can’t think of a situation in which a patient would be okay to leave on day three, even with the White House’s medical capacity.” The New Yorker editorialized saying this: "By spinning his own illness, and denying its seriousness, President Trump encourages his followers to deny reality."
Keith Boykin, a CNN commentator, went ahead and tried to create a conspiracy theory: "Only two possible explanations for Trump leaving the hospital. 1. He never had Covid and this was all a hoax to distract from his debate performance, tax returns, Melania tapes and other scandals. 2. He’s the most recklessly selfish president in modern history. Take your pick."
