AIMIM President and MP Asaduddin Owaisi has accused the media of circulating old videos of crowds gathering in Hyderabad's Old City during the lockdown. He said that the attempts by the media are meant to please the Prime Minister.
The Hyderabad police shared the video of Charminar area being under a strict lockdown. Sharing the same, the AIMIM chief said, "Old videos of crowds at Charminar are being shared to show social distancing violations. Media will always find a scapegoat to shield Dear Leader (referring to Narendra Modi)."
The MP then asked, "Is Hyderabad only Charminar? There are 5 police zones in Hyd, are they not worthy of coverage? But media has to find a way to communalise."
Owaisi also said that Modi is behaving like a new Prime Minister on the vaccination policy. He argued that the close coordination between the Centre and pharma companies could have happened months ago but even today there are medicine and vaccine shortages all over India. "He has bungled every aspect of managing this crisis," Owaisi tweeted.
This is the present situation at near charminar strict lockdown has been implementing here and some old videos are circulating on social media showing that establishments are opened. pic.twitter.com/DLJXHDPgBK
