The Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) mayor selection this time will be a coalition one. The Congress and JDS will unitedly decide on 28th of this month.

The outgoing mayor of Bengaluru Smt Padmavathi was the 50th Mayor. And in the coming term from September the Deputy Mayor will be 50th one.

Apparently the BJP has disclosed that it is not going to stake claim on Mayor Post. Having alliance with BJP would eventually affect the middle of next year Assembly election is the assessment.

The JDS state head former chief minister HD Kumaraswamy knows very well that the number with his JDS is far less compared to Congress I in BBMP. So he may concede the Mayor post to Congress I. the Deputy Mayor and standing committee heads might be his choice is another source available.

Keeping away BJP from any position in BBMP is the sole agenda of Congress I and JDS. The observation of HD Deve Gowda JDS supreme, state chief Minister Siddaramaiah would be taken into consideration for final decision says the Karnataka Home Minister Ramalinga Reddy.

At the outset the present situation would be maintained.
