Noted actor and comedian Mayilsamy has voiced out in a comic statement that politicians should continue creating problems for all films as they did for 'Mersal'. He said so because such sensations created by politicians help in the publicity of films thereby making it a grand success.
Thalapathy Vijay's 'Mersal' has been the talk of the town serving as fodder for media around the country. It is also notable that a south Indian movie became a subject of debate on national media after senior leaders of BJP condemned the film's GST references.
Mayilsamy stated that films have been a mirror of the social state and only contemporary relaities make their way into films as art including the recent murder of a woman in the Nungambakkan train station. "Likewise, 'Mersal' has talked about the prevailing issue of GST. What's wrong in that?" he said.
Stating that it was not right to remove scenes froma film after the censors, Mayilsamy also stated that Vijay and Mersal have been catapulted sky high because of the opposition from politicians. He also humbly requested politicians to keep doing this so that other producers and films may as well reap profits same as the 'Mersal' producers.
