Mayawati gives major blow to Congress

BSP supremo Mayawati has on Wednesday made it clear that her party will not ally with the Congress in the upcoming Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan polls.
"I feel that Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi's intentions for Congress-BSP alliance are honest. However, some Congress leaders are sabotaging this. The Congressmen are getting arrogant and are under the misconception that they can defeat the BJP on their own. But the ground reality is that people haven't forgiven Congress party for its mistakes and corruption," she stated today.
She lamented that Congress leaders like Digvijaya Singh are putting a spanner in the wheel of a possible Congress- BSP alliance. "They are alleging that I am facing a lot of pressure from Centre to not go in for an alliance with the Congress. Congress, like the BJP, is conspiring to finish off the BSP," Mayawati thundered.
Will the party ally with Rahul Gandhi in 2019? Only time will tell.
However, the Congress has reacted in its own way. "At times, out of emotions, sweet and bitter things are said. But at last, if Mayawati ji holds absolute trust in Rahul Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi, then other creases can be ironed out," Randeep Surjewala said.
