Ram Gopal Varma, the maverick filmmaker, is making waves yet again with his latest offering, Vyooham. Despite facing numerous delays, the two teasers and two trailers of the film have sparked a frenzy among the audience. Known for his unapologetic approach, Varma has pulled out all the stops to ensure the release of this controversial flick, which aims to shake up the political landscape of Andhra Pradesh.
After overcoming various hurdles, Varma triumphantly announced on social media the receipt of the film's censor certificate, accompanied by a striking image of himself holding a gun in one hand and proudly displaying the certificate in the other. Clocking in at 121 minutes, Vyooham has been awarded a U/A certificate by the censor board, signaling its readiness to hit the screens on March 2nd.
The film promises an insightful portrayal of the shifting political dynamics following the demise of YS Rajasekhar Reddy, highlighting pivotal events such as the 'Odarpu Yatra,' the political maneuvers during the 2014 elections by Chandra Babu, and Jagan's remarkable rise to become the Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh in 2019. Varma's attention to detail is evident in the portrayal of key figures, including lookalikes of Chiranjeevi, Pawan Kalyan, Sonia Gandhi, CBN, Viyamma, and YS Bharati, ensuring a captivating viewing experience.
Leading the cast is Ajmal Amir, reprising his role as YS Jagan with conviction, alongside a talented ensemble including Manasa Radhakrishnan, Dhanunjay Prabhune, Surabhi Prabhavati, Rekha Nirosha, Vasu Inturi, Kota Jayaram, and Elina Tuteja. Sajeesh Rajendran's stellar cinematography adds depth to the narrative, while Dasari Kiran Kumar serves as the producer, contributing to the film's grand vision. Vyooham is poised to be a compelling exploration of political intrigue and power dynamics, leaving audiences intrigued and eager for its release.
It is known that Ram Gopal Varma's Vyooham and its sequel Sapatham faced many obstacles over their releases as his films are blatantly pro YSRCP and targets the opposition TDP and Jana Sena directly using the real names. It has to be seen whether Vyooham will see the arc lights at least now.
