With 'Mausam' pushed by a week, courtesy objections raised by IAF, it has turned out to be a bad weather situations for it's competition. Reason being that out of the two new films already planned to arrive for next week, namely 'Hum Tum Shabana' and 'Speedy Singhs', former has now decided to arrive a week later.
"Changed plans for one movie can have a ripple effect on so many others, that's what a packed schedule can do," says a senior filmmaker, "Moving ahead of 'Mausam' has been unhealthy for the industry as it was leading to a three way clash with 'Hum Tum Shabana' and 'Speedy Singhs'. None of the two films were expected to be happy with this development since 'Mausam' was an added and unexpected competition."
The predicament faced by Shahid and Sonam was much severe. If one looks at practical scenario, delay hasn't been greeted with both arms by 'Mausam' either because it won't necessarily get full control of best show timings, something that it was best enjoying as per it's original plans. It was certainly an avoidable situation and the fact that 'Hum Tum Shabana' has moved ahead is good news for the film.
Meanwhile for 'Hum Tum Shabana', there is further battle ahead since now it would have to contend with 'Force', 'Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster' and close to half a dozen other films that are currently slated for 30th September release.
Now that's one change of weather that no one could have predicted!
