Masters
Tamil director turned actor M. Sasikumar had been a name to watch even in Kerala after his movie 'Subramaniapuram' which went on to make big money from the Mollywood Box office. After this big hit, his other movies like 'Nadodikal' and 'Poraali' also have done well in Kerala. And so to make the best out of the actor, who has got an impressive fan support from Kerala, is director Johny Antony who is going to present Sasikumar for the first time to Kerala audience through a Malayalam film. Titled 'Masters', the movie will have Sasikumar with the young hero Prithviraj.
'Masters ' made in a large canvas, with a big cast list has its backdrop the city of Kottayam. Basically an investigative thriller with plenty of twists and turns, the movie will has the lead duo as friends, who developed their appreciation for each other from their college days. Prithviraj appear as ASP Sreeramakrishnan while Sasikumar becomes the journalist Milan Paul in the movie. As they are working in the same city, they join together for the investigation of a curious case and later on to take on some social issues.
Johny Antony, who has always been with light-hearted entertainers such as `CID Moosa,' `Kochi Rajavu,' `Thuruppugulan,' is for the first time attempting a serious story here. With plenty of suspense and crime and loosely led clues, the movie will also take a look on friendship and bonding between men.
Sasikumar, who is overwhelmed with the appreciation that his films receive in Kerala, had an instant liking to the story lines when Johny Antony narrated the same to him in the sets of 'Poraali'. The actor who says that Malayalam films are his source of inspiration opines that the movie is well written by Jinu Abraham, the relatively fresh scriptwriter of 'Masters'.
Piaa Bajpai, who was recently seen in the super hit Tamil film `Ko,' and Ananya are the heroines. Also in the big cast list are Mukesh, Jagathy, Vijayaraghavan, Biju Menon, Saikumar, Salimkumar, Mithra Kurian, Parvathy, Janaki and Saadhique. Madhu Neelakantan is the cinematographer while Gopisundar is in charger of music department.
`Masters' is being produced by B. Sarathchandran under the banner of Sincere Cinema. The movie will be on theatres in another couple of months.
