‘Master’ running time too long? – Clarification

‘Master’ directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and starring Thalapathy Vijay and Vijay Sethupath as the hero and villain respectively is the most awaited movie of the year by fans.  It is also the most sought after Tamil film in the trade circuit as the star power and high expectations will pull the crowds back to the theaters after the coronavirus lockdown.

A news started circulating in social media platforms that ‘Master’ has been censored and the running time is above three hours.  Official clarification has been made that the postproduction work of the film is still underway and only by the end of the month or June first week the first print will be ready.  Hence there is no chance for the film to be censored or running time be determined right now.  The fake censor certificate that is doing the rounds is obviously the work of some miscreants on the internet.

‘Master’ is produced by XB Film Creators and Seven Screen Studios at a huge budget with Anirudh providing the music.  The ensemble cast besides Vijay and VJS includes Malavika Mohanan, Andrea, Shantanu Bhagyaraj and Arjun Das.
