Thalapathy Vijay's 'Master' directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and costarring Vijay Sethupathi is in the final leg of postproduction and the final copy is expected to be ready very soon.  Theater owners are of the opinion that the film should hit the screens first after the COVID 19 lockdown ends as the mass power of Vijay will pull the audience to the halls and revive the theater industry.  Reports even said that the government could give permission to cinema halls to open with social distancing restrictions by July itself.

Veteran producer and former Producers Council head Keyaar has requested the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu to not to allow 'Master' to be screened as the first movie in theaters after the resumption.  He stated that if it releases irreparable damages will be made to Vijay's good name amongst people and also to his fans as they may be accused of further spreading the disease.

Keyaar urged the CM to focus on safeguarding people's lives more than reviving the economy and he also asked for the waiver of 26 percent entertainment taxes levied on film producers for the next three months.
