After the deadly Pulwama terror attack that killed 40 CRPF soldiers, and the rising anger and outrage against Pakistan, calling out for a war, there have been demands to call off the match between India and Pakistan in the upcoming Cricket World Cup, and on the other hand, the ticket demand for the mother of all clashed has reached an all time high, reportedly.
As said by ICC worldcup tournament director Steve Elworthy, there are already 4 lakhs applications for the Indo-Pak match scheduled on June 16 in Old Trafford stadium, Manchester, and the stadium actually has a capacity of just 25000. This has been seen as a huge demand than the Australia Vs England match and the final match tickets demand.
On the other hand, back in India, there are voices supporting a boycott of the match, as former spinner Harbhajan Singh had said that the match must be boycotted, and another cricketer Chetan Chauhan had proposed the idea of threatening ICC that India will boycott the tournament. ICC executive David Richardson had also expressed doubts recently over the match being held without any troubles.
