Indian boxer Mary Kom becomes the 'golden' girl at CWG 2018!

Admit it, you were waiting for this ‘golden’ update. Mary Kom is the name, and the gold is hers they say! Yes, one of our country’s celebrated boxers Mary Kom has clinchded the gold in the 2018 Commonwealth boxing event.
Competing in the 45-48kg category, one must say that Mary dominated the event (and the boxing ring) to earn yet another feather in the cap. Northern Ireland’s Kristina O’Hara had no chance in the final with Mary Kom as she lost the fight in a 5-0 point.
Appreciations have been pouring in for the boxer from all corners. As of now, India stands at the third spot with a total of 18 golds, 11 silvers and 14 bronze medals. Australia dominates the ranking while England is retaining its second spot.
