British actress Florence Pugh who played Yelena Romanoff, the sister to Natasha Romanoff in the Marvel movie Black Widow is in discussions to join the cast of Dune: Part Two costarring the Hollywood sensations, Timothee Chalamet and Zendaya.
Dune, which was released in October 2021 to universal praise, followed the story of Paul Atreides, a brilliant and gifted young man born into a great destiny beyond his understanding, who must travel to the most dangerous planet in the universe to ensure the future of his family and his people.
It is expected that she would portray Princess Irulan, the Emperor's daughter, in the sequel. According to Screenrant, Pugh is awaiting the next revision of the screenplay before committing to join Dune 2.
Florence Pugh's probable role as Princess Irulan in Dune 2 might offer her a big part in the sequel. In the novel, Irulan falls in love with Paul Atreides as part of his scheme to become the galaxy's next ruler. Although Princess Irulan plays just a minor part in the first Herbert book, she grows in importance as the series progresses.
Dune already has many Marvel stars including, Zendaya starred as Peter Parker's love interest, Michelle Jones-Watson (MJ) in all three of Marvel's Spider-Man instalments, Josh Brolin spent the last seven years playing Thanos, Stellan Skarsgårdwho played Dr. Erik Selvig, a mentor to Thor's soon-to-be replacement, Jane Foster, Dave Bautista aka Drax, an often obtuse member of the Guardians of the Galaxy and many more.
