Martin Scorsese and Leonardo DiCaprio Eye Frank Sinatra Biopic: A Legend's Life on the Big Screen
The renowned film director Martin Scorsese is all set to enter the field of biopics once again, as he is up for two challenging projects this time. Reports suggest that one project will center around the music legend Frank Sinatra, while the other will focus on Jesus Christ.
The Oscar-winning director is in negotiations to helm the biopic on the iconic crooner Sinatra, with Leonardo DiCaprio to star as the legendary singer. This would be yet another collaboration of Scjsonese with DiCaprio, who earlier contributed to the critically appreciated films "The Wolf of Wall Street" and "The Aviator."
The project would still need approval from Sinatra's daughter, Tina Sinatra. But while this project definitely has people talking, it has yet to generate any actual gossip, like, say, around a possible Jennifer Lawrence casting to play Ava Gardner, Frank's second wife. The film will purport to give an inside look at the relationships and highlights of his life.
In addition to the Sinatra biopic, Scorsese has also set up an adaptation of "The Life of Jesus" at the studio, based on a Shūsaku Endō novel. He's said to be eyeing Andrew Garfield to star and potentially expects to shoot the picture later this year in Israel, Italy, and Egypt.
Ever probing further into his biopic-saturated realms, Scorsese's journey into uncharted forays for the big screen doesn't end here. He is also developing a series based on the Bible for Fox Nation, along with Steven Spielberg, and the "Cape Fear'' series for Apple TV+. Scorsese looks ahead to future projects and grants new life to old stories, never forgetting to keep in mind the audiences he has enchanted with his own signature style of storytelling.
