'Pelli Gola', a new digital show described by its director Mallik Ram as a marriage comedy, seems to be a new-age rom-com with a difference. Featuring Abijeet Duddala of 'Life Is Beautiful' fame and Shamili Sounderajan of 'Chandamama Kathalu' fame, the show will be released on March 29 via Vuclip's video streaming service Viu.

Shot in a village backdrop, 'Pelli Gola' comes with excellent production values, if the promo is anything to go by. It's being presented by Annapurna Sudios.

While the male lead is a doctor, the female lead is sports freak. The crux is about how they find meaning to their relationship outside the societal bounds of marriage. That's why, it's said that the couple are running away from their own marriage.

The director says this much. “Set in Amalapuram, our lead pair Abijeet and Shamili are sure to win hearts with the kind of performances they have given," he says, adding that the content has been designed to entertain the digital audiences.
