Police arrest Marina Protesters

A group of protesters gathered at Marina beach carrying placards insisting the setting up of the Cauvery Management Board as ordered by the Supreme Court. The protesters were arrested and more cops were deployed in the area.
A sizeable crowd of youngsters had gathered with more women supporting. The agitators raised slogans asking Tamil people to come to the streets and fight for their rights. The cops after getting alerted combed the entire beach and arrested the protesters behind the MGR memorial and have been taken to Anna Salai station.
It may be recalled that in January 2017 the Jallikattu protest that began in Marina went on to become a historical event.
