After reciving a phenomenal response in the domestic release, Viacom18 Motion Pictures' 'Margarita with a Straw' has taken off to foreign shores.

While the film was released in metro cities in a limited fashion, after the first weekend itself the exhibitors increased the number of shows and added centers like namely Kanpur, Allahabad, Lucknow, Dehradun, Siliguri, Darjeeling, Durgapore, Rajkot, Hubli, Lonawala, Goa and Chinchwad. And now, the rights of the film have already been sold in territories like USA, Japan, Korea and Spain. With a high return on investment, this small film with a big heart has paid off for the studio.

Termed niche and offbeat, the Kalki Koechlin starrer was critically well-acclaimed by Indian audience after achieving accolades in various international film festivals. Ringing in more than 5 crores and going strong at the Indian Box Office at the end of the second week, the film with its increasing word of mouth and positive reviews has witnessed a rise in demand among audiences.

'Margarita with a Straw' is produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Jakhotia Group, Kool Homes and Ishan Talkies and released on April 17, 2015.
