'Sairat' comes to Tamil through Superstar Rajinikanth's producer

The critically acclaimed Marathi flick 'Sairat' starring Rinku Rajguru and Akash Toshar in lead roles has been directed by Nagaraj Manjule after his highly acclaimed National award winning film 'Fandry'. Both the films deal with the problem of caste discrimination and oppression of Dalits. 'Sairat' which released on April 29, 2016 has emerged as the first Marathi language film to have grossed Rs.100 crores at the box office. Rinku Rajguru has won the Special Jury National Award for best actor (Female) for her stunning performance in 'Sairat.
Owing to its blockbuster success and nation-wide critical acclaim, the film will be remade in Hindi, Gujarati, Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The remake rights of all the four South Indian languages have been snapped up by producer Rockline Venkatesh who produced Superstar Rajinikanth's 'Lingaa' in 2014. Zee Studios, one of the producers of the original has teamed up with Venkatesh to produce the South Indian versions of the film,
We hear from sources that the big ticket producer has started discussions with filmmakers to adapt 'Sairat' for the sensibilities of local audiences and he plans to commence the shoot in August, 2016.
