The much-awaited trailer of Priyadarshan's ambitious periodic drama 'Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham' was released on Friday evening at 6 p.m. The trailer promises it to be one of the never seen visual extravaganza Malayalam cinema has ever produced. The gripping 2.23-minute long trailer introduces all the major characters in the film and they all look stunning.
While Mohanlal looks stunning in the shoes of Kunjali Marakkar IV, Pranav Mohanlal, and Kalyani Priyadarshan also grab the attention in their own respective roles. The trailer was released in five languages by the six superstars - Mohanlal, Akshay Kumar, Suriya, Yash, Chiranjeevi, and Ramcharan.
The film which is directed by Priyadarshan is set during the era of the 16th century in Kerala and is based on the legendary sailor Kunjali Marakkar IV, played by Mohanlal. Pranav is playing the younger version of Mohanlal in the movie. Pranav is paired opposite Kalyani Priyadarshan.
The epic period drama is produced at a budget of Rs 100 crore and features an ensemble cast of Keerthi Suresh, Manju Warrier, Arjun Sarja, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent, Suhasini and Mukesh among others. Several foreign actors are also acting in the film.
Antony Perumbavoor is bankrolling the project under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. 'Marakkar' will hit screens simultaneously in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada. A Hindi version is also expected. Being an ambitious project of Priyadarshan, the movie is expected to have the grandeur that Mollywood has never seen before. The movie is releasing in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages on March 26.
