The Trailer for 'Manu', starring Raja Goutham and Chandini Chowdary, was released on Sunday.
Speaking on the occasion, Raja Goutham said, "People ask me as to why I don't do movies in quick succession. While I respect their views, I have certain specifications about the kind of movies I want to do. Before I did 'Manu', I had done a number of short films. During the process, I met with so many directors. When I watched a short film titled 'Madhuram', I loved it. I contacted its director Phani and spoke to him. His another shortie, 'Backspace', mesmerized me even more.
This is when I heard out a narration from him. I told him the script is great. A few days later, he told me I would be playing the lead man's role in the movie. I felt so happy. If an actor wants to prove himself, a character like Manu is enough. Phani has done a perfect movie. About 115 individuals have crowd-funded the movie. So, the director was very responsible from the beginning.
My father always tells me to give my best to whatever I do. Those who love cinema have invested their monies on this film. Doing 'Manu' has been a great learning experience. If 'Manu' becomes a hit, many more films in this format are going to be made."
Director Phanindra Narsetti said, "People have given anywhere between Rs. 1000 to Rs. 40 lakhs for this movie. Today is an emotional moment for me. I can't forget the contributions of my investors. I don't know why they trusted me but they all trusted me a lot. This film will satisfy them all. 'Manu' will speak for itself. I am thankful that Nirvana Cinemas has acquired our movie."
The film will hit the screens on September 7.
