Controversial veteran actor Mansoor Ali Khan has faced severe backlash from both fans and celebrities for his shockingly vulgar comments about his experience of not sharing screen space with Trisha in the blockbuster hit film 'Leo'. The National Women's Organization recommended that a case be filed against him. Various Tamil cinema organizations including the Producers Council have condemned him as well. The Nadigar Sangam has released a statement demanding Mansoor to render an unconditional public apology to Trisha.
In this situation, Mansoor Ali Khan met the media today and gave an explanation showing no signs of remorse for his distasteful and sexist speech. He instead stated " The Nadigar Sangam has made a huge mistake. It has decided arbitrarily without asking me for an explanation. People know who I am. BJP's S.V. Shekhar spoke very slanderously about women. No arrests were made in this regard and no women's association fought when a student named Anita took her own life due to NEET examination."
Mansoor added "The statement issued by the Nadigar Sangam should be withdrawn immediately within 4 hours, a notice should be issued asking me for a proper explanation, and everyone is being made to speak against me. Lokesh Kanagaraj knows nothing about this matter. I did not say anything bad about actress Trisha, I should file a defamation case against her for saying that she will not act with me."
Netizens are confused whether Mansoor Ali Khan is aware of what he is saying or he is truly ignorant of the gravity of the situation. It remains to be seen if a legal action will be taken or if the 61 year old actor will render an apology.
