It was director Bharathiraja who introduced Bhagyaraj as a hero in Puthiyavarppugal` and the rest is history. Later Bharathiraja acted in an crucial cameo role in Thaavani Kanavugal` which had Bhagyaraj as the lead hero and director.

Now almost after three decades the sons of the two legends have acted in togheter in a movie. Shanthanu the son of Bhagyaraj is acting as the lead hero in Vaaimai directed by debutante Senthikumar. In this film Bharathiraja`s son and actor Manoj is acting in a important role as a journalist.

Manoj who has already acted as hero in a few films is also aspiring to become a director soon. He worked as assistant director to Shankar in the latter`s blockbuster film Enthiran` with Rajinikanth in the lead role.

A few months back. there were strong rumors suggesting that Manoj will be directing the sequel to his father`s classic thriller Sigappu Rojakkal`. Manoj however rubbished that his maiden directorial will be the second part of the Kamal Haasan Sridevi starrer.

Manoj however assured that he will start the film soon and a formal announcement of the same can be expected in two months. Manoj said that he was more interested towards direction than acting and accepted the role in Vaaimai` as he was impressed with Senthilkumar`s script.

Vaaimai` is highly expected as veteran comedian Goundermani is said to play an important role in this flick. The film boasts off a strong supporting cast that includes, Ramki,Urvashi and Thyagarajan. Bhanu is the female lead of the film.
