'Current Theega' is all set for a release on Oct 17th and G.Nageswara Reddy, the director of the film, is very confident that they will hit the bull's-eye. He talked about the film, his actors, his journey with Manchu family etc in an interview.

Excerpts from the interview.

Suits him well

The title 'Current Theega' suits not only Manchu Manoj's real life character, but also the role he played in the film well. So we opted for that title. Though Manoj has played different characters in his previous films, the story of 'Current Theega' is very good and the emotions in it will get connected to the audiences well. Manoj has given a superb performance, especially in the climax.

Very different

Though the film is a remake of Tamil film, 'Varuthapadatha Valibar Sangam', both the films will be different compared to each other. The characterization of the hero and Jagapathi Babu's character will be very different. We have also added a villain track in this film. The story is well adapted to Telugu nativity. Sivakarthikeyan became a big star in Tamil after the release of that film. But Manoj is already a big star in Telugu. So we are very confident about this film.

No vulgarity

There is no special reason for roping in Sunny Leone for the teacher character. She has a good following among the youth and she can draw the audiences to the theatres. The film would have got a clean 'U' certificate, if her item song is not included. Youth will definitely enjoy the song. Though it is an item song, it will not be vulgar and family audiences will not have problem with her character and the song.

Strict father

Jagapathi babu played a very important role in this film as heroine's father. He played a very strict father and the lead pair need his permission to marry. How they have convinced him will be very interesting. I wanted Jagapathi Babu to play this character after watching the trailer of 'Legend' and asked Mohan Babu about it. When we approached him, he immediately agreed to act in the film.

Equal to hero's character

Rakul Preet Singh's character in the film is equal to hero's character. Her character gives life to the story. She is a good actress and is very hardworking. She will have a very good future in the industry. Sampoornesh Babu played a very entertaining character as a guy, who comes to marry Sunny Leone.

He is my first critic

I've been travelling with the Manchu family for four years. They have always treated me as their family member. Working with them is always a pleasure. They have watched 'Current Theega' and are very happy with the output. Mohan Babu sir is my first critic and he appreciated me after watching the film.

Very good actor

I like Manoj very much and I had waited for him for two years, though I had offers some other big heroes. I felt very comfortable working with him. Every actor would have a separate image and there is nothing wrong if they wish the film should be according to their image. But as speculated, Manoj will not involve in everything unnecessarily. He is a very good actor and gives us what we need.

He doesn't listen

Manoj doesn't listen even if we say him not to perform risky stunts. He is very passionate about films and he wants to do stunts by his own. He also performed some stunts in this film without using a dupe and they will be very good.

Next film

I will work with producer BVSN Prasad after this film and complete details including the hero will be announced soon. I was supposed to work with Sushanth, but the story didn't work out.

G.Nageswara Reddy concluded saying that 'Current Theega' is a paisa vasool entertainer and will be the biggest hit in the career of Manoj.
