Responding to criticism directed at Ranbir Kapoor's movie "Animal," actor Manoj Bajpayee says he's perplexed as to why people can't just go on. While everyone is free to refuse to see a movie they find objectionable, he feels that doing so shouldn't cause problems for other people.
Manoj addressed the fuss in an interview with Pinkvilla. "What is wrong with a movie if a lot of people don't enjoy it or disagree with it? Released, the movie makes money and then moves on. The producer, who put money into the film, gets paid, he said.
Don't watch it if you don't want to, he said. Though it's advisable to avoid the film if you disagree with anything, don't cause problems for it. Doing this will just set a negative example.
Ranbir's "Animal," helmed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, has drawn criticism for its graphic violence and representation of women ever since it was released. Because of how misogynist it portrays, many social media users have dubbed it "problematic". All the same, it became one of 2023's biggest blockbusters.
Manoj also commended the inventiveness and entertainment of other movies such as "Kantara," "Article 370," and "RRR" in the same interview.
Manoj most recently starred in Zee5's "Silence 2: The Night Owl Bar Shootout." Among his next movies are "Despatch," "Bhaiyya Ji," and "The Fable." May 24 will witness the release of "Bhaiyya Ji," a tale of a man seeking retribution for his family. Additionally, he is shooting "The Family Man" web series' third season.
