Constant attention and public exposure is one of the biggest downsides of being a celebrity. Since social media has made it easier for people to contact and interact with their beloved stars, it has become increasingly difficult for celebs to maintain a balance between their private and professional lives.
Actor Manoj Bajpayee recently shared that he was compelled to delete his WhatsApp account in order to stay away from the countless unnecessary messages that he would recieve on a daily basis. The actor told ETimes, "WhatsApp pe bahut saare known, unknown messages aate hain, everyone expecting you to respond to them quickly. There are invitation to all kinds of functions and then people expect you to respond in a positive manner."
He further added, "There are so many forwards – many of which are not in sync with my sensibilities – spams, unknown numbers and bulk messages coming in every day, unknown calls coming every day. It’s humanly not possible for any of us to entertain each and every message and answer them in positive. And your answer should match their expectation, which was getting a little too much."
Manoj concluded by saying, "I also wanted to just keep a lot of time for my reading, for watching content and spending time with my family rather than just being stuck on the phone and being busy answering people. So I think it was just very, very important for me to delete it so that the expectations stop.”
