Seasoned actor Manoj Bajpayee gave something fresh to the audience when he starred in Amazon Prime Video's popular espionage show 'The Family Man' where he played a middle class ordinary seeming man who is secretly a highly skilled spy. During the 52nd IFFI event going on in Goa, Manoj talked about where he got inspiration to play the character of Srikant Tiwari the way he did.
Stating that he never tries to make his characters larger than life or over the top, Manoj said, “I always try to live in the reality and make the character a representative of the masses. I didn’t need to search Srikant Tiwari, my character in the ‘The Family Man’ series, anywhere else. I got it within me, in my family, in my surrounding and everywhere."
Manoj also believes that one of the reasons for the success of his show was the impeccable writing and direction by Raj and DK who didn't limit themselves and told a pan Indian story which struck close to heart for so many people. He said, "The biggest expression of freedom that we experience when we started ‘The Family Man’ series was why should we limit ourselves? To break the barrier and make the story pan-India, we reached out to the actors, crew and writers from different regions."
