Manoj Bajpayee to be honoured with Dadasaheb Phalke award

It's a BIG day today for actor Manoj Bajpayee, firstly he turns 47 today 'Happy Birthday' to you sir and next is that he will be honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke award in the Best Actor category (Critics' choice) for his performance in Hansal Mehta's biopic drama, Aligarh`. WOW!!!!! What perfect news to start you day with.

In the movie 'Aligarh', Manoj essayed the role of late Marathi professor Ramchandra Siras that got him many rave reviews. At a recent interview, Manoj opened up saying that he has dedicated the award to Siras and his struggles in society. He also thanked ace director Hansal Mehta, co-actor Raj Kummar Rao along with the team and critics for the award.

On career front, Manoj will soon be seen as a traffic constable in 'Traffic Signal', which is a remake of a Malayalam movie by the same name. The movie also features actor Jimmy Sheirgill, Sachin Khedekar, Prosenjit Chatterjee in the lead.

Manoj has earlier won national awards for his performance in movies like 'Satya' and 'Pinjar'.
