The book 'Accidental Prime Minister' became one of the best sellers and it is also being remade into a full length movie. Earlier it was reported that the talented Anupam Kher will essay the role of Manmohan Singh and that the actor will go through various trainings and rehearsals to get into the role. With casting currently in progress, an Italian actress will play the role of Sonia Gandhi and an Indian-Irish actor is set to essay the role of Rahul Gandhi.

The movie has an ensemble cast of more than 100 artists and is set to release by December 2018, just a few months away from the 2019 elections.

The production company has refused to comment on who will play other key characters like APJ Abdul Kalam, Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Ahmed Patel, Madam's political secretary.
