Post Diwali, there have been no releases worth the name, leaving "Manmadan" and "Attahasam" to continue their reign over the Tamil box office. And there is every indication that they will continue to do so for some more time.
The top five Tamil films are:
1)"Manmadan" (Directed by A.J. Murugan): For the last couple of weeks, "Attahasam" had positioned itself firmly at the top. But Silambarasan's screenplay seems to have put a dampener on Ajit's dream run. It is Silambarasan indeed who is responsible for Manmadan's tremendous success at the box office.
2)"Attahasam" (Directed by Saran): After several flops, Ajit appeared to have hit the jackpot with "Attahasam". It does not seem to have worked as well as it appeared earlier, slipping to the number two position. Nevertheless, it is a welcome breather for Ajit whose career seemed to have hit a slump.
3)"7-G Rainbow Colony" (Directed by Selvaraghavan): This is Selvaraghavan's second taste of success in as many attempts.
4)"M. Kumaran, son of Mahalakshmy" (Directed by 'Jeyam' Raja): Jayam Ravi and Jayam Rajah seem to have lived up to their reputations yet again. "M.Kumaran, son of Mahalakshmy" is still going strong, with people coming in droves to watch the movie for the umpteenth time.
5)"Niranja Manasu" (Directed by Samudrakani): Vijaykanth is the undisputed king of rural Tamil Nadu. And he has enhanced his reputation as the darling of the B and C centres with "Niranja Manasu". However, the A centres are not too impressed, which was only to be expected.
