Director Maniratnam is now shooting his dream movie Ponniyin Selvan, which is the film version of Kalki Krishnamoorthy's epic novel of the same name. The shooting began last year in Thailand, and after the first schedule with Jayam Ravi and Karthi, the team recently shot scenes in Pondicherry.

Now Ponniyin Selvan is being shot in Hyderabad's Ramoji Film City in specially designed huge sets, and this schedule is expected to have scenes shot with Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Vikram, Trisha, Riyaz Khan and many others, and now here's an interesting update on another heroine joining the team.

Bollywood actress Sobhita Dhulipala, who has acted in movies like Raman Raghav 2.0, Kaalakandi, and Telugu movies like Goodachari has reportedly been signed to act in an important role in Ponniyin Selvan. The movie also stars Aishwarya Rai, Aishwarya Lekshmi and many others and has music by AR Rahman.
