After becoming the mass hero and busy supporting actor for quite some time, Kalabhavan Mani is trying to change lanes. He will don the role of Uthappan in the new movie titled ‘Uthappante Kinar’ based on the short story by Karur Neelakatapillai in the same title.

Famous movie critic and director Vijayakrishnan will script and film this story. Vinu Mohan, Sruthi, Indrans, Kochupreman, Poojappura Ravi, Jagannathan and Kanakalatha will also be a part of the supporting cast. While debutant M G Anil will debut as a music director through the movie, R Rajesh will produce 'Uthappante Kinar' under the banner of Karthik films.

In the current year, Mani had been into some serious roles in films like 'Yugapurushan' which bagged him critical acclaim.
