Polices sudden decision on Mani Ratnam case

A sedition case was filed by the Muzzafurpoor police in Bihar against Mani Ratnam, Revathi, Anurag Kashyap and forty-nine others by court order on a case filed by one Sudhir Kumar Ojha. This was in regards to a letter that the celebrities wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi requesting him to intervene and check the widespread mob lynching of minorities in the name of religion and food practices.

Ojha had stated that the letter is against the Nation and tarnishes the image of the Prime Minister. There was widespread support to the celebrities from all quarters of the country.

In a sudden move the Bihar police have dropped the case and have released a statement explaining that they investigated and did not find any proof of sedition by the celebrities.
