A strong 'Varisu' connection in 'Ponniyin Selvan' confirmed

Mani Ratnam's epic film 'Ponniyin Selvan - PS-1' based on the novel of the same name by Kalki is releasing worldwide on September 30th in multiple languages. The ensemble cast of the A.R. Rahman musical is virtually the who is who of Tamil cinema that includes Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Prabhu, R Sarathkumar, Vikram Prabhu, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Rahman and R Parthiban.

A couple of days back the second single Chola Chola from 'Ponniyin Selvan' was released in Hyderabad to tremendous response. Mani Ratnam, Suhasini Mani Ratnam, Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi and Prakash Raj attended the event which upped the ante amongst the trade circle there and audiences.

It is now revealed that top Tollywood producer Dil Raju after the event has acquired the theatrical rights of the Telugu version of 'Ponniyin Selvan' from Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies. It is worth mentioning that Raju under his banner Sri Venkateswara Creations is currently producing Thalapathy Vijay's 'Varisu' and Shankar's 'RC 15' starring Ram Charan Teja and Kiara Advani.
