The title of director Mani Ratnam's next film has been officially confirmed with the first look poster released today. Yes, as reported earlier, the much revered filmmaker has taken the first line of a popular love poem of the revolutionary poet Mahakavi Bharathiyar. The film has been titled as 'Kaatru Veliyyidai'.

This also confirms that the film will come under the romance genre. Romance sequences has always been a huge attraction in almost all the films of Mani Ratnam. And his out and out romance entertainers such as 'Geethanjali,' 'Alaipayuthey' and the most recent 'O Kadhal Kanmani' have been super hits in the box office and the most favourite films of many film buffs.

We hope 'Kaatru Veliyidai' follows the trend. The first look poster features the lead pair in a youthful and it carries the freshness and attraction, one would always associate with a Mani Ratnam film.

Karthi who has delivered three back to back hit films and just completed shooting for 'Kaashmora,' apparently plays a pilot in the film who falls in love with Aditi Rao Hyadari. RJ Balaji has also signed up for an important role in the film.

Isaipuyal A.R.Rahman and Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu have already started working on the songs. Ravi Varman has been roped in for cinematography. Sreekar Prasad will take care of Editing. Sharmishta Roy has been entrusted with the job of designing the sets. The film will be produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies banner while Siva Ananth joins the team as the Executive Producer.

The shooting of 'Kaatru Veliyidai' has commenced in Ooty from today.
