Mani Ratnam is a legendary filmmaker in Indian cinema. He accomplished not only his long-time dream but also the long-time dream of Tamil cinema by adopting author Kalki's epic novel 'Ponniyin Selvan' into a two-part live-action franchise with an ensemble cast at a mega-budget.
While Ponniyin Selvan 1 hit the screens last year and became an all-time high-grosser, the sequel is now gearing up for a grand release worldwide on April 28. The franchise has music scored by Mozart of Madras, AR Rahman. As per the reports, the makers have planned a lavish audio and trailer launch at Nehru Indoor Stadium, Chennai on March 29.
Superstar Rajinikanth, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and many others graced the audio launch event of PS-1. Rajini and Kamal are expected to take part in the PS-2 music function as well. Now, the latest is that Mani Ratnam has met the renowned veteran director and actor Bharathiraja today and invited him to the Ponniyin Selvan 2 audio launch event.
The photos from their meeting are going viral on social media. Ponniyin Selvan 2's ensemble cast comprises Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Vikram, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Ashwin, Mohan Ram, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vikram Prabhu and others. The technical team includes cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad with art direction by Thota Tharrani.
