Malayalam cinema’s most wanted actors Roshan Mathew and Darshana Rajendran are coming together for the upcoming movie, 'Paradise'. Produced by Mani Ratnam's Madras Talkies and Newton Cinema, this project is helmed by acclaimed and multiple-award-winning director Prasanna Vithanage.
'Paradise' is scheduled to have its world premiere at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival in South Korea. The movie has been nominated for the "Kim Jeosak Award," one of the festival's top prizes. 'Paradise' will have its world premiere on October 7 at the Busan International Film Festival. The members of the cast and crew will be in attendance.
‘Paradise’ is set against the backdrop of Sri Lanka's financial crisis in 2022. The film deals with the surging inflation that leads to food, and fuel shortages, resulting in blackouts and public unrest and tells the story of a web series producer and his vlogger wife who go there to celebrate their 5th wedding anniversary. However, as events take an unexpected turn, tensions escalate and result in a crack between them.
The movie has music composed by K, cinematography by Rajeev Ravi, editing by Sreekar Prasad and sound design by Tapas Nayak. “In the face of crisis, an individual's true nature emerges and that’s what the film is about. In addition, it portrays the internal conflict in Sri Lanka as well as the lives of upcountry Tamils. While the film unfolds it discusses Ramayana’s important topics too “, says the producers Anto Chittilappilly and Sanitha Chittilapally.
