As we all know director Mani Ratnam is presently busy with the shooting of 'Kaatru Veliyidai' ('Duet' in Telugu), starring Karthi and Aditi Rao Hyadari in lead roles. The film is touted to be a romance entertainer and will be hitting the screens in March, 2017.

For the past few weeks, there have been talks doing rounds that the ace director will be teaming up with young and energetic hero Atharvaa Murali for his next.

Now we learn that Mani Ratnam, the owner of Madras Talkies banner, has now registered the title 'Ethir Katchi', most likely to be the title of his next film.

The title makes us wonder if it will be a political flick. The veteran filmmaker has proved his mettle in handling political subjects with his films 'Iruvar' ('Iddaru' in Telugu) and 'Aaydha Ezhuthu' ('Yuva' in Telugu).
