Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' is undoubtedly the next highly anticipated film from Tamil cinema, slated to hit the silver screens on September 30. The post-production works for the magnum opus project are underway and the fans are eagerly waiting for the promotional updates.

We already broke to you that the makers have planned a grand teaser launch event at the Thanjavur temple in the first week of July. Now, the latest is that the 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' official teaser will be unleashed on July 7 at the famous Brihadeeswarar Temple in Thanjavur, once the capital of the Chola dynasty.

Moreover, the team has planned several extensive promotions for the film across places. The preparation for the teaser launch is on, and they have camped in the city for the work. The audio launch is likely to be held in a foreign location. AR Rahman has scored music for the epic historical fiction movie.

Ponniyin Selvan's ensemble cast comprises Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Prabhu, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Rahman and Ashwin among many other popular cine faces in the country. 'Ponniyin Selvan' is made in two parts and the sequel is expected to release in Summer 2023.
