Kollywood's magnum opus 'Ponniyin Selvan Part 1' debuted in the theatres after a massive promotional campaign by the cast and crew. The historical fiction movie was the dream project of many including the film's director Mani Ratnam and it became an all-time blockbuster in the industry.

Now, the 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' OTT release date is here. 'PS1' is most likely to start streaming on Amazon Prime Video in the second week, probably on November 11. The film clocked its 25 days of theatrical run on Diwali day (Oct 24). Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman hosted a celebration event for the movie's musical team recently.

But sources tell us that the OTT release might be pushed to a week or two as the film regains numbers at the box office despite new Diwali releases. 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' has reportedly grossed over Rs 480 crores worldwide, and the film is expected to surpass the 500 crore mark shortly. It broke many box office records in Tamil Nadu and overseas.
