We brought you earlier this week that the 'Ponniyin Selvan' first single is gearing up for release soon. Directed by Mani Ratnam, 'PS1' has songs and an original score composed by AR Rahman. Now, the latest hot news is that the makers have decided to launch the maiden song on Sunday.

Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies took to their social media handles to reveal a brand new poster featuring Karthi to announce the first single from the album. The song 'Ponni Nadhi' will be released online at 6 PM on July 31. Ilango Krishnan penned the lyrics and dance master Brindha choreographed the song.

This song will be the starting point of the story as Vallavarayan Vandhiyathevan travels with his horse near the VeeraNarayana lake on Aadi Perukku ( a festival celebrated in the Tamil month Aadi). 'Ponniyin Selvan part 1' is all set to hit the screens worldwide on September 30 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Hindi and Malayalam. Ravi Varman is handling the visuals.

The movie stars Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sobhita Dhulipala, Parthiban, Prakashraj, Arjun Chidambaram, Vikram Prabhu, Sarathkumar, Prabhu, Kishore, Rahman, Jayaram, Lal, Jayachitra, Riyaz Khan, Sarah and Ashwin Kakumanu. Jeyamohan is penning the dialogues and Sreekar Prasad is editing the film.
