'Ponnniyin Selvan' is an epic film franchise, adapted from the renowned novel by Kalki, in Kollywood created by the legendary filmmaker Mani Ratnam and Lyca Productions. After PS-1 became a top-grosser last year, the sequel is all set to storm the screens worldwide on April 28.

Earlier, there were speculations that the makers are planning to drop the PS-2 teaser on March 1st and the first single on Valentine's day. But the latest reports suggest that the first single will make its debut by February end. Meanwhile, sources tell us that the grand audio and trailer launch event of Ponniyin Selvan 2 will be held at Nehru Stadium, Chennai on March 29.

Reportedly, many big celebrities and politicians will be invited as guests for the iconic event. An official update regarding the teaser and first single release is also awaited. AR Rahman composed the musical score for both parts with cinematography by Ravi Varman and editing by Sreekar Prasad. PS-2 is undoubtedly one of the highly anticipated films in 2023.

PS-2 stars Chiyaan Vikram, Jayam Ravi, Karthi, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Trisha, Shobita Dhulipala, Jayaram, Prakash Raj, Sarathkumar, Parthiban, Ashwin and many others. The story of Ponniyin Selvan revolves around the civil war inside the Chola dynasty for the throne and the conspiracy by Pandyas to avenge the Cholas, set around the 10th century.
