Mani Ratnam's 'Ponniyin Selvan' is one of the most anticipated events in Tamil cinema. With music by AR Rahman, the epic multistarrer movie is the story of conspiracy and civil war within the Chola dynasty to descend the throne, based on the renowned novel of the same name by author Kalki.

Today, Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions took to their social media handles to officially announce that the 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' second single will be released on August 19 (Friday) at 6 PM. 'Chola Chola' will be a song celebrating the victory of Aadhitha Karikalan (played by Chiyaan Vikram). It is worth mentioning that the first single 'Ponni Nadhi' is going viral.

'Chola Chola' is composed by Isai Puyal ARR and crooned by Sathya Prakash, VM Mahalingam and Nakhul Abyankar with the lyrics penned by Ilango Krishnan, who wrote the lines for 'Ponni Nadhi' as well. According to sources, the team had earlier planned a grand event in Hyderabad to launch the second single but it is now cancelled as Chiyaan Vikram won't be able to travel.

We already broke to you that the 'Ponniyin Selvan part 1' audio launch is all set to take place at Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai on September 6. Superstar Rajinikanth, Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan and Chief Minister MK Stalin are expected to be the chief guests. The makers are planning Telugu audio launch on September 8 and they will have separate events throughout the nation for music releases in multiple languages.
