Tamil cinema's biggest multistarrer 'Ponniyin Selvan 1' is ready to storm the silver screens on September 30. Produced by Lyca Productions and Madras Talkies, this is said to be the costliest Indian film. Legendary director Mani Ratnam directed 'PS1' with music by Isai Puyal AR Rahman.

Meanwhile, we already updated you that the makers have planned an extensive promotional tour ahead of the movie's release. The 'PS1' team will kickstart their promotions at the Thanjai Periya Kovil which is a monument from the Chola period. It is worth mentioning that 'Ponniyin Selvan' is a story based on the Cholas and their kingdom.

Further, the cast and crew will travel to the other districts in Tamil Nadu followed by grand promotional events in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Kochi, Mumbai and Delhi. The movie team also has promotion plans abroad - Dubai, Singapore and Malaysia. 'PS1' is the first Tamil to be released in IMAX format and it will have a Pan-Indian release in five languages.

'Ponniyin Selvan' is the official adaptation of late author Kalki's epic novel of the same name. The film boasts a huge star cast: Chiyaan Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Jayaram, Aishwarya Rai, Trisha, Sarathkumar, Prakash Raj, Parthiban, Prabhu, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Jayachitra, Vikram Prabhu, Ashwin, Rahman, Kishore, Teejay, Sara, Shobitha Dulipala and others.
