It has been a long time dream of every film buff, especially those who have born after 1990s to see director Mani Ratnam and actor Kamal Haasan, the two pride gems of Tamil cinema team up for a film again. But this still remains a dream for the past 29 years as they have not worked together in any film after the 1987 blockbuster classic film 'Nayakan'.

However the two legends have many times shared the same dais for film related events and the latest to join in the list would be the Bengaluru International FIlm Festival.

After the recently concluded 13th Chennai International Film Festival, which had the phenomenal participation of film enthusiasts and general public of Chennai, a festival of the same kind is going to be held in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka State.

Recently Karnataka Chief Minister Siddharamiah headed a meeting to discuss the plans to organize the event which will be inaugurated by Bollywood actress and politician Jaya Bachchan on the 28th day of this month. As many as 172 films from 50 countries will be screened in various theaters across Bengaluru.

Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam have been invited to grace the opening ceremony of Bengaluru International Film Festival and the two doyens are likely to participate.
