Kalabhavan Mani is again acing in a Lal film. Mani is presenting a character of prominence in the new film Chotta Mumbai, which has Mohanlal in the lead. Earlier Mani has appeared with Lal few years back in Natturajavu.

Mani who is having a big fan following in the state is said to have some problems with Lal after the state award announcements of 1999. In that year Mani's Vasanthiyum Lakshmiyum Pinne Njanum was also in the fray for the contest for best actor with Mohanlal's Vaanaprastham.

Mani and many well wishers of the movie, which was a super hit among the masses believed that, he will get the honors for the best actor. But as the award was announced for Lal, Mani went unconscious and was in the hospital for the day. Following that many rumors piled up about the bad relation between the stars.

Soon after both the actors were honored in national levels as Mani got a special award as Lal fetched the best actor title for respective films.

Mani himself ended the talks about this by acting in a major role in the super hit Mohanlal film of that time Baletten which also celebrated the 25 years of Lal in filmdom.

Now as Mani is again coming up with Lal in Chotta Mumbai a lot of interest persists for the roles and performances of both the stars in the film.
