It was finally three hours rally of BJP protesting against the killing of Hindu workers on Thursday. The Mangaluru Chalo rally was held from Jyothi Circle in Mangaluru crossing the police limits. A Padayathra was held to surround the DC office.
From Thursday early morning at Jyothi Circle in Mangaluru was surrounded by police. They were ready to stall the protestors who violate the prohibition. From Jyothi circle to Hampana Katte was in control of 1000 police officials.
BJP members knowing this held a mammoth meeting at Jyothi circle and later held bike rally plus Padayatra. A stage was set on a truck. At 9.30 am the vehicular traffic was completely stopped. BJP protestors stayed for four hours beating the scorching sun. Member of Parliament Nalinkumar Katil reached the protest spot. The slogans were up against the ruling government of Siddaramaiah.
At 11.14 am state BJP leader BS Yediyurappa, Jagadish Shettar, KS Ishwarappa, Prahllad Joshi, Shoba Karandlaje, Aravind Limbavali, CT Ravi, Pratap Simha, R Ashok and others of BJP arrived to give further momentum to the rally.
When the rally reached height the police took the motorbike keys to their custody and arrested the BJP leaders for crossing the barricades. 850 were arrested for violating the prohibition.
