The overseas audience of Telugu cinema have displayed a marked difference in their tastes from their domestic counterparts. In the past, Srimanthudu collected a whopping $ 2.8 million, proving that overseas audiences are more preferential toward so-called "class" stuff.

Oopiri, as expected, has been a beneficiary of this trend. The film with universal emotions but a "class" temperament has been doing a massive business overseas. Like Manam, it has turned out to be a blockbuster hit there. Like Manam, it has mopped up a share of $1.5 million in 16 days.

Going by this trend, Brahmotsavam, whose director Srikanth Addala has earlier made films with a markedly "class" temperament is set to make it big overseas. This is a probable reason why the Mahesh Babu-starrer fetched a higher overseas theatrical price than even Sardaar Gabbar Singh.
