A police complaint has been filed against a man who allegedly posed as director Ajay Bhupathi, who is famous for his Telugu film Rx 100, and sought nudes from aspiring actresses on social media.
Women, who are aspiring actresses, reportedly responded to social media ads offering roles in Tollywood films. The man who posed as the director allegedly asked them to send their personal details and nude pictures on WhatsApp. After getting to know about the fraudster, director Ajay Bhupati filed a case with the cyber crime department. "Hello, I filed a Cyber Crime case against a fraudster (7995267901) using my name to trap women in the name of Casting Calls. The official announcements of my films will be out on Trusted sources only. Stay cautious & beware of such incidents happening around. @CyberCrimeshyd. I've got to know that many people are creating fake profiles on social media with my name to exploit girls. Earlier, I settled the similar issue regarding a message to a girl from a profile in my name, where my team disclosed it with proper advice on fake profiles."
Apparently, the man also pretended to be Telugu actor Vijay Deverakonda on several occasions. He would apparently sometimes even ask for money from those women. Adding how the man still continued to trouble the girls, Ajay Bhupathi wrote, "But it didn’t settle there, there are a few more girls who were facing the same situation & that too from the same number. Responding to the same, we took it seriously & went on to file a case with Cyber Crime. We expect many more innocent trapped in the same scenario. So, we request everyone to stay cautious & be aware of such fraudsters ahead."
